The Events feature provides a comprehensive activity log of all monitoring events triggered by your watched extensions. View real-time notifications, track changes over time, and investigate what happened when extensions you’re monitoring experience updates, ownership changes, security verdict shifts, or visibility modifications. Each event includes detailed information about what changed and when.

Event Filtering

Find specific events with multiple filter options:
  • Event Type Filter
    • Filter by event category
    • Options: All, Version, Ownership, Verdict, Visibility
    • Dropdown selection
    • Matches watch items configuration
  • Extension ID Filter
    • Search by exact extension ID
    • Text input field
    • Case-sensitive matching
    • Useful for tracking specific extensions
  • Destination Filter
    • Filter by notification destination
    • Shows events sent to specific channels
    • Text input for destination name
    • Track delivery to different endpoints
  • Filter Actions
    • Search Button - Apply current filters
    • Clear Button - Reset all filters to defaults
    • Filters preserved in URL
    • Share filtered views via URL

Events Table

Comprehensive event display with sortable columns:
  • Time
    • Click to toggle between relative and absolute time
    • Relative: “2 hours ago”, “3 days ago” (default)
    • Absolute: Full UTC timestamp “2024-01-15T14:30:00Z”
    • Clock icon indicates toggle functionality

    • Event type identifier
    • Short labels: version, ownership, verdict, visibility, manifest
  • Extension
    • Extension name with logo
    • Clickable link to full analysis

Event Types

Events are triggered based on watch item configuration:

Version Events

  • Trigger: New extension version released
  • Details Include:
    • Old version number
    • New version number
    • Version name (if available)
    • Update date
    • Platform

Ownership Events

  • Trigger: Extension publisher/owner changes
  • Details Include:
    • Previous owner ID
    • New owner ID
    • Previous owner name
    • New owner name
    • Change date

Verdict Events

  • Trigger: Security verdict changes
  • Details Include:
    • Previous verdict (clean, suspicious, malicious)
    • New verdict
    • Verdict date
    • References (if available)
    • Analysis version

Visibility Events

  • Trigger: Marketplace visibility changes
  • Details Include:
    • Previous status (active/inactive, public/unlisted)
    • New status
    • Change date
    • Visibility type

Manifest Events

  • Trigger: The extension manifest changes
  • Details Include:
    • Difference between the two manifest files
    • Identification of new and removed permissions and host permissions
    • Includes added and removed lines to the file

Event Details Explained

Common Fields

  • extension_id - Unique identifier for extension
  • platform - Marketplace platform
  • timestamp - When event was detected (ISO 8601 format)
  • event_type - Category of change (version/ownership/verdict/visibility)

Version Event Fields

  • old_version - Previous version number
  • new_version - New version number
  • version_name - Display name (optional)
  • updated_date - When update was published

Ownership Event Fields

  • old_owner - Previous owner ID
  • new_owner - New owner ID
  • old_owner_name - Previous owner display name
  • new_owner_name - New owner display name

Verdict Event Fields

  • old_verdict - Previous security verdict
  • new_verdict - New security verdict
  • verdict_date - When verdict was assigned
  • references - Supporting documentation URLs

Visibility Event Fields

  • old_active - Previous active status
  • new_active - New active status
  • old_visibility - Previous visibility setting
  • new_visibility - New visibility setting

Metadata Fields

  • rule - Watch rule ID that triggered event
  • organization - Organization name
  • destination - Where notification was sent
  • notified_at - When notification was dispatched
